Baby Charlotte

This little girl LOVES her sleep. She sleeps about 4-6 hours a time at night, but she needs her naps during the day. But here are a few pictures of her sleeping, the faces she makes and positions she sleeps in are super funny and you can tell the she is out cold in a few of them. Hopefully you can also tell that she is chunkin' up. We go back to the doctor next week and I would not be surprised if she has hit 8 pounds. Formula is working wonders for the little monkey, but right now I think she is going through a growth spurt because she is eating almost 4 ounces at every feeding! AH!! Shout out to anyone that has formula they are trying to get rid of.. We'll take it!

She folds right in half when she sleeps on my belly. Weird that this is probably how she was in the womb.

Her feet HAVE to be free or else she will scream and scream, and yes she sticks them straight out while she sleeps. The cute quilt on the crib is from Grandma Oswald. THANKS GRANDMA. Hopefully she is dreaming about being a dancer :)

Did I mention that she hates me waking her up from her naps, but I think her stretching and curling up into this little ball is super funny.

And last but not least, I think Charlotte got her attitude from her dad, but boy does she give looks that are hysterical. We went up to Malad last weekend to spend time with Clair's family and of course show off Charlotte to the extended family.  Charlotte sometimes gets an extremely concerned look on her face when she doesn't know who it is that is holding her, she will also give you this look if she doesn't really like what you are doing while holding her. swaddling her makes the looks even more funny because all you see are the concerned or angry little eye balls.

Who Knew??

Who knew being a parent could cause so much anxiety!?! Our little kidlet is just too darn skinny, her skin looks like its falling off of her body. But here are some more pictures. Because I don't have the cord to get pictures off my camera, all the pictures we take are on our phones so pardon the not so great quality of them.
Ce Ce LOVES her sleep and I love her waking up faces and movements. She gets super annoyed at me.

You can see on her arms the rolls of skin the poor kid has. This is a newborn dress and the little bloomers underneath fall right off once I pick her up.

I love her little crossed feet this happens every time we feed her and her hands go right up underneath her chin.

another newborn picture that I Love.

Because Charlotte was still under birth weight by at two weeks and then even further under at two and a half weeks the doctor has me giving her ONLY formula.( They wanted to admit her to the hospital but I asked if I could try formula first) We go in tomorrow to see if that does the trick of bulking her up or if there is a underlying problem. Luckily I had a friend give me a couple things of formula, and the doctor gave me a few too so that I wouldn't have to go out and buy any, but it looks like we'll be supplementing with formula for a year so if you have any extras send them my way!

Charlotte Marie

Finally I have a minute to blog about our new little addition Charlotte. She decided to join us exactly one week early. She was born June 25th at 1:13 pm. She was 7 pounds 6 ounces and 19.5 inches. She made quite the entrance into the world. Her name is Charlotte Marie. You can call her Charlotte or Ce Ce or Lotte and those are the only approved nick names. We call her Charlotte or CeCe and my mom calls her Lotte.

Labor and delivery was pretty easy for me. I started contracting at about 2:30 in the morning but I wanted to make sure that it wasn't false labor so I walked around our apartment for an hour. At 3:30 they were a little closer together about 3 minutes apart but they weren't getting any worse and I was still able to walk through them so I decided to try and watch a movie to see if maybe they would go away. They started getting a little worse and so I tried to walk around again, tried to eat a little bit, drink some but they were about 2.5 minutes apart and starting to take my breath away. I decided I would wait until about 5 AM and call my sisters to see what they thought about it, if it was real or false labor. at about 4:50 the contractions were making me cry a little bit and I had to hold onto a chair or the couch until they passed. I was trying to make it until 6 so Clair could get his normal amounts of sleep in but at about 5:30 I broke and went and got him up. Finally my sisters called back and it was decided that yes I was actually in labor not fake labor.

We drove fairly quickly to the American Fork Hospital (we live in Orem) and went right up to labor and delivery. When they hooked me up to the machine and saw my contractions were now 2 minutes apart, and learned that I had dilated from a 2 to 6.5 in four days they got me into a room and I had my epidural by 7 AM. Thank you Dr. John Bonica the inventor of the epidural. They broke my water and there was meconium in it so they were just a little concerned. After they gave me the epidural my dilating came to a stand still. We let it play out for a couple hours with no movement So they hung pitocin. I told them that drugs work really really well on me so be prepared to have a baby. Our doctor got called into surgery so at about 10 they hung the pitocin and by 11 i was completely dilated. I didn't actually start pushing until about noon.

Once I started pushing I only pushed for an hour and I was so glad I had an epidural. My doctor told me to stop pushing towards the end because the cord was wrapped pretty good around her neck but the little turkey that she is she kicked herself the rest of the way out. She wasn't as pink as they wanted so they took her and Clair away pretty quick down to the nursery where they pumped her stomach (to get the meconium out) pumped her full of fluids, hooked her up to a breathing machine to get all the meconium out of her lungs and her poor little hip was out of place so they put that back in. The poor kid. I didn't get to see her for a couple of hours after she was born and when I did it was through the nursery window where she was trying to get the CPAP oxygen machine off her little face. Once she was out of the woods they let us keep her in our room for the night and we even got to go home the next day. Thank goodness that hospital room was SUPER uncomfortable.

As soon as we got home and Clair and myself were a little more relaxed I think she felt a little better because she started to fuss less. She is a trooper she eats great. really really well, maybe a little too well. and She sleeps for about 5 hours at night I get up and feed her and then she'll sleep another 3 or 4. so far so good its been just about 2 weeks even though I feel like its been a month.

I'll get the hospital pictures up ASAP. but for a now here are a few of our pictures from our phones and some of her newborn pics that I love. Tanner and Shannon, my cousins, took her newborn pictures and let me just say they are AMAZING!

Still at the hospital
She loves her tummy. and LOVES her dad

two of her newborn pics. Clair says yes there is a child under the giant flower. she posed amazingly well and would fuss until the click of the camera. She's her mothers child.

Belated Birthday and April Fools Day

Happy Birthday Clair Bear! Clair turned 26 on March 29th.

We went and saw the Hunger Games... AMAZING. We both loved the movie and how well it followed the books. I Made Clair this cupcake cake... its supposed to be a golf course.

Can I just say I have the greatest husband ever. I seriously married way up! Happy Birthday Clair!

HAPPY APRIL FOOLS DAY

My friend Chelsea Lords showed me this on pinterest yesterday and we both decided to try it out for April Fools day today. The actual one looks WAY better than mine but it was a lot of fun to take it to my parents house for dinner. The little neighbor girls wouldn't even try it :) ha ha ha. although it only somewhat looks like chicken watching my mom and Clair eat it was hilarious, It looked completely like they were eating chicken right off the bone. Thanks Chels for the idea!

The Makings of the Nursery!

Let me just start by saying that we are the luckiest most blessed people in the world. My pregnancy has been decent besides my vain self. Besides growing HUGE and after I got out of the first trimester I have been totally healthy and still able to work out daily.

Besides being healthy we are blessed with amazing friends. Every time we went out to look for cribs or look online all I wanted was a white pottery barn convertible crib. Wellll my friend sold me her crib...chair...changing table and a umbrella stroller for $100.00. I didn't even care what color or kind it was. When Clair picked it up and it happened to be WHITE POTTERY BARN... man oh man we are truly blessed.

My goal is to give this little girl the girliest ballet room there ever was. I just made the curtains on Monday and i'm in love with the glitter bows. Next on my list of things to make is a tutu lamp. It will be just the icing on the cake in the corner of her room. I'll take pictures as I slowly finish up the room. My goal is to have it totally done by June 1st.

HERE SHE COMES

well its been WAY too long since I have posted on my blog but we do have exciting news. For those of you who don't already know... or who actually look into my blog from time to time... we are having a BABY! Thats right folks. A stinking kid.

This kid already gives me anxiety. When we went in to get the big Ultra Sound and find out the sex this little one WOULD NOT cooperate. everything was going smoothly and everything looked great. We found out SHE was a she and Clair cried a little bit...okay he didn't really I just got a little misty eyed. I was convinced it was a boy and Clair knew it was a girl and boy is she cute and already a dancer. She kept grabbing her toes and pulling them to her face..very pointed I may add.. As the ultra sound continued the last thing the tech needed to check was the face. Well her face was now buried into me. The tech had me roll from side to side... shook my belly.. I went for a walk.. nothing. So she said try going to the bathroom moving around and If we can't get it we'll have to schedule another ultra sound. At this point I was getting nervous because our insurance only covers the one... So I go into the bathroom.. pee.. and give this kid a pep talk. "now you listen to your mom. This is the only ultra sound we are getting. now turn around show us your face." I jumped up and down a few times and headed back and she turned around and gave us a giant SMILE! drama already.

OUR NEWEST ADDITION

Well as some of you may know we have a baby! She's adorable. Her name is Agnes and she is just a couple months old now. She is sorta crazy though. While all the cool people blog about their kids I will blog about my kitty Agnes...although I think it may be a battle taking her with us when we go, the parents and Daysa have taken quite a liking to her. and who can blame them?

When we got her from Malad she has UNBELIEVABLY sharp claws so we trimmed them and put kitty caps on her to teach her not to scratch the couches and carpets and such. Amazing right?

She's pretty hyper and LOOOVES to play. Her favorite place to sit is right in the middle of whatever anyone is doing. she is a drama queen this one. The funniest thing though is she thinks she's a dog. Up and Clair's house in Malad there is a big dog and a puppy and she chases her tail, her favorite pass time is fetch. for reals. I have the video to prove it all. I'll eventually post it. I recorded it on my phone and its struggling. Stay tuned for more of Agnes.

She's pretty much our experiment to see if we actually want kids. The first night we got her she cried ALL NIGHT LONG. Clair, while talking to a buddy at work about his kid crying all night, responded "ya I know what you mean we just got a cat." She goes out to the garage at night but someone lets her in super early in the morning and she meows at our door to come in our room and sleeps either right in between us OR right on top of one of us. She's great and a nice practice round.
